"Processed meat specialist SUJISLINK is branching out into the plant-based meat market. SUJISLINK announced on the 14th that it will construct the country's first dedicated vegan plant for producing plant-based meat on a 5,284 square meter site in Wollong-myeon, Paju. The company plans to invest 18 billion won by the first half of 2023 to establish the plant.

 The investment will fund research and development in plant-based meat, as well as the construction of production facilities, creating around 100 new jobs.

 As the global alternative food market continues to advance, there is increasing focus on technology development and large-scale investment in the sector.
