[Nov 24, 2022] Partners with 'OurHome' to co-develop plant-based meat solutions

Ourhome (led by CEO Koo Ji-eun) has signed a partnership agreement with SUJISLINK (led by CEO Lee Se-hee), a company specializing in the production and distribution of processed meat products, to jointly develop plant-based meat products.

Under this agreement, the two companies will work together on joint research and development as well as commercialization of plant-based meat products using HMMA (High Moisture Meat Analogue), a manufacturing technique known for producing advanced plant-based meat products.

The companies will also establish a cooperative framework to ensure the successful market entry of new plant-based meat products and to expand the domestic market for alternative meat.

The plant-based meat that the companies plan to launch using HMMA technology features a micro-porous structure, giving it moisture content, taste, and texture similar to real meat.

Existing alternative meat products made with dry textured protein have primarily been limited to ground meat, minced products, and sausages, whereas the new plant-based meat made with wet textured protein allows for the production of differentiated high-quality alternative meat in the form of marinated meats, chicken breasts, and other whole cuts, according to the companies.
